What This Means for Your Family
The CHOOSE Act provides most families with up to $7,000 per student through an Education Savings Account (ESA). These funds can be used to cover tuition, technology fees, textbooks, and other approved educational expenses at Lighthouse Baptist Academy.
Many LBA families pay little to no out-of-pocket cost thanks to the ESA.
About the CHOOSE Act
The CHOOSE Act (Creating Hope and Opportunity for Our Students’ Education) gives parents increased control over their child’s educational journey. Through ESAs managed by ClassWallet, families receive funding that can be used toward approved education expenses—including private school tuition.
Eligible Expenses
ESA funds can be used toward a wide variety of educational costs, including:
- Tuition at accredited private schools (including LBA)
- Enrollment and registration fees
- Technology fees and school-issued devices
- Textbooks and instructional materials
- Tutoring or supplemental learning programs
- Curriculum and educational resources
- Special education services
- Computers (up to $1,200 every two years)
- Assistive technology (up to $500 annually)
Not covered: uniforms, food, transportation, athletic fees.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for ESA funding, families must provide documentation for:
- Residency
- Guardianship
- Household income
Priority is given to students with special needs and children of active-duty military members.
