Becky Towne
Mrs. Becky Towne has been part of the Lighthouse Baptist Academy staff since 2019 and serves as both the Administrative Assistant and a high school English teacher. She graduated from Hyles-Anderson College with a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education, majoring in English and Business with a minor in Music. With decades of experience, she finds deep joy in watching students grow academically and spiritually through consistent mentorship.
Her favorite subjects to teach are English and Business. She attributes her passion to a godly high school teacher who instilled in her a love for language and the responsibility Christians have in their speech and conduct.
Mrs. Towne and her husband, Jay—a Navy veteran—have served in full-time ministry for over 40 years in Washington, Michigan, Indiana, and Alabama. They have two married daughters and three grandchildren. At Lighthouse Baptist Church, she teaches the adult ladies Sunday School class, sings in the choir, plays the piano, and teaches the K4/K5 Master Clubs class.
In addition to music, Mrs. Towne has been a wedding coordinator for over 30 years. A fun fact: her grandparents were from Switzerland, and she learned German in high school to communicate with extended family!
Her life verse is Isaiah 40:31—“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength…”
